The three-time defending Division 4 state champion St. John Paul II baseball team will get a feel for how it stacks up with the big boys almost right out of the gate this season.
On Saturday, the Lions travel to Plymouth North to be among 10 teams statewide – the majority of them Division 1 programs – to take part in the Compass Challenge.
St. John Paul II will face Taconic High School of Pittsfield in a 9 a.m. game, taking on a squad that advanced to the Division 1 Western Mass. semifinals last season.
