For many years, Pat Van Cott was one of those parents in the stands who watched his own daughter play basketball and pondered the idea of getting more involved.
So, after former St. John Paul II girls’ basketball coach Pam Drayton did not return to the team this season, Van Cott decided to go for it.
“I just couldn’t stand sitting in the stands anymore, so I figured if I could do a decent job, I’d give it a shot,” he said.
